We're Allie and Braian - husband and wife, café obsessives, and the team behind Allie's. After 12 years in Australia's café scene, we knew exactly what a great matcha should taste like. Grounded Bear is our answer.
It Started on a Thursday Night...
Grounded Bear started the way most good ideas do - late on a Thursday night, deep into the kind of conversation that tends to solve everything.
Between us we've spent 12 years embedded in Australia's café scene, developing strong opinions about a lot of things. Coffee. Oat milk. Matcha. Especially matcha. We love it. We also noticed that ordering one from café to café was a bit of a lottery - sometimes brilliant, sometimes a grassy cup of regret.
So one Thursday night, somewhere between laughing about nothing and solving problems that didn't need solving, Allie said: "Why has no one made a good ready-to-drink matcha?"
We looked at each other. Then we got to work.
Six months later, Grounded Bear came to life. Premium Japanese matcha - smooth, earthy, creamy, with just enough maple syrup to take the edge off - in a can. No surprises. Just the good stuff, whenever.
